Great Stay in Vancouver – Listel Hotel

I was invited by my friend Kaz Kadono to stay for two nights in Vancouver at a wonderful hotel, the Lister Hotel. Wow. What an absolute treat.

Firstly, it is an absolutely beautiful hotel.

Mr. Kadano also took me out to dinner at the hotel restaurant.

They feature an all local food menu. Now, a lot of places offer local food and drink – so this may not sound so remarkable. But the restaurant at the Lister Hotel takes this to a completely new level. Not only is all beer and wine on the menu made locally, but even the cocktails are made with locally distilled vodka and gin!

Then there is the food. Pictured here is the chowder which has won awards – and deservedly. Literally the best chowder I have ever had by far. The egg pictured here is home-smoked and pickled in the kitchen – you can’t get more local than that.

The Charcouterie includes Bison meat (also pictured).
